I created Mindful Awakenings in order to offer Meditation Instruction and Mindfulness Practice to interested people at a reasonable cost. I have over 20 years of meditation practice and am a Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Instructor through the McLean Meditation Institute. Additionally I am a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin.
A long-time interest of mine has been to explore and promote the normalization of the aging process. In the six-week course I’ve developed for adults 50 and over (Mindful Aging), I facilitate discussions and exercises that help group members investigate their aging process, as well as to become companions to each other on this journey.
End-of-Life Transition Counseling is a continuation of the aging process that also includes the very end of life. When faced with life-limiting illness, people often feel alone. This counseling offers both companionship and support to help enable a full exploration of this natural phase of life.
Alongside this work, I am blessed to be able to enjoy my family and friends, yoga, knitting, reading, sewing, and watching Mourning Doves.
